Drift began with the fabric, the way the tulle holds the light, the soft weight of it falling, and the figure came to rest within it naturally.
There’s a stillness to this piece that took a long time to arrive at. The pale tulle, sheer embroidered fabric and soft folds of satin carry much of the feeling. The figure is simply there, at rest, unhurried.
It’s a painting about softness, weight and surrender, those moments where nothing dramatic is happening, but everything feels held.
This limited edition print is available for 48 hours only. This release closes at Saturday 2nd May at 7pm (UK time).
The original painting is a pastel work created in my studio and is now held in a private collection. This edition is the only opportunity to own this piece as a print.
